Locations
Introduction
Location rating is a core function of the OCS and depends on the definition of a hierarchy of locations for each location based rating policy used.
Individual Locations
Individual locations may be defined in the OCS. Locations may be referred to in multiple location hierarchies, or in location annotations (for whitelists/blacklists).
Key location fields:

| ID | The ID used internally when referring to this location. For ease of management, it is recommend this is similar to the name |
| Name | The name used for the location in the GUI. |
| Best Match String | When performing prefix-based matching (e.g. against called/calling party phone numbers), this must be set to the prefix to use to determine whether the incoming value matches against the location. |
